CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN has immediately become the most valuable player in Serie A ahead of international superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.

According to Transfermarkt’s data, Eriksen instantly topped the table of Italy’s most valuable players after sealing a £17million move to Inter Milan from Tottenham.

Serie A’s top ten most valuable players according to Transfermarkt data

The 27-year-old signed a four-and-a-half year deal at the San Siro and the midfielder will reportedly earn £320,000 a week.

The Danish playmaker tops a list which includes three of his new Inter Milan team-mates, four Juventus players and one apiece from Napoli and Lazio.

These values are generated by the crowdsourcing website Transfermarkt who receive user evaluations from registered members who must show the justification behind their assessment.

Judges then create the final market value figure by analysing the user generated data and considering other variables and their importance, such as age and contract length.

Eriksen’s high valuation will be a source of frustration for Spurs.

They north Londoners had hoped to get Eriksen to stay but instead he ran his contract down, leaving them in a weak position to negotiate a decent fee.

With just six months remaining on his contract they were forced to accept Inter Milan’s £17m offer.

TOP OF THE PILE

Eriksen’s real value is estimated at £81m according to Transfermarkt, £4.5m more than Argentina international Dybala in second place.

Juventus’ Dybala signed a five-year-contract at the Old Lady in 2017 and is also £4.5m ahead of Eriksen’s Inter team-mate and fellow Argentinian Lautaro Martinez who comes in third with his value of £72m.

Martinez joined Inter from Racing Club for £17m in 2018 and the release clause on his deal, which expires in 2023 and earns him a reported £1.7m a year, is thought to be in the region of £94m.

The only two defenders who make the top ten are Matthijs de Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly in fourth and fifth respectively with both valued at £67.5m.

Dutch star De Ligt, 20, moved from Ajax to Juventus in the summer for that amount and takes home £206,000 a week after the Bianconeri won the race to sign the highly rated youngster.

Napoli are expecting £100m for Manchester United target Koulibaly, 28, who has three-and-a-half years left on the contract extension he signed in 2018.

RONALDO IN SIXTH

Ronaldo is also valued at £67.5m and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is down in sixth place despite the 34-year-old moving to Juventus from Real Madrid for £88m in July 2018.

One place further down with the same value is another ex-United player in Inter striker Romelu Lukaku who moved to Italy from Old Trafford for £76.5m on a deal worth £300,000 a week last summer.

Lazio’s midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is valued at £63m in eighth place after Chelsea were linked with signing the Serb for £70m last year.

The bottom two are Juventus’ central midfielder Miralem Pjanic at £63m followed by Inter’s holding midfielder Marcelo Brozovic whose value is estimated to be almost £10m less.

Paris Saint-Germain were interested in Pjanic last summer but did not meet Juventus’ asking price of £86m for the 29-year-old who signed a five-year-deal when he arrived in Turin from Roma for £25.4m in 2016.

Brozovic – famed for blocking a Lionel Messi free kick lying down – signed a new four-year-deal at the San Siro in 2018 and is estimated to be worth £54m.
